Educational Consulting for More Inclusive Schools and Communities

I believe in successful inclusive schools for all children – with and without disabilities.  And I believe these schools are best built when teachers, parents and administrators collaborate to find engaging, meaningful and respectful ways for each and every learner to access the academics offered within general education environments.

As an educational consultant, I help create and strengthen working teams so they can continuously and collaboratively improve their practice together, ensuring that students with even the most extensive support needs are able to engage in general education curriculum and grade level standards, side-by-side with their peers. As a researcher at the University of Minnesota, my work allows me to engage in the implementation of evidence and research based inclusive practices at the school, district, state and national levels.  Additionally, I often work with families and students to develop person-centered action plans to address their individual needs, and provide guidance on how they can reach their self-identified valued life outcomes.
